I am so fed up with DEI, Clarion, etc.  Trying to get information out of them is like pulling teeth.

A little research and I found lots of info on the FCC website.  For example here is the installation instruction set for a Viper 771XV system.  The FCC ID was granted on July 9th of this year (2004).

https://gullfoss2.fcc.gov/prod/oet/forms/blobs/retrieve.cgi?attachment_id=423267&native_or_pdf=pdf

You can search for stuff (which includes block diagrams, photos, documentation, etc, etc) here

https://gullfoss2.fcc.gov/prod/oet/cf/eas/reports/GenericSearch.cfm

For example:  if you only search for "directed" (without the quotes) you will bring up slews of FCC ID grants.  You can narrow your searches if you have the FCC ID, approximate date, etc.

After days of calling DEI and their stupid "talk to a dealer in your area" replies it is quite satisfying to finally find the techincal information I have been looking for.

Have fun!

I'm not sure what you mean by "exhibit summary".

The first page I see after initiating a search will have a list.  The second column of each list shows the words "Detail" and "Summary" (they are separate links).

Clicking on "Summary" will show you a list of documents etc for a specific FCC ID number and their permissions (some items might be listed as confidential).

Go back to the search results page and click on "Detail" to then be presented with a list of documents you can access.

Not every single item that DEI makes is there.  Some are confidential and not available, but many are not.  Use the "Summary" to determine if "Detail" will list the documents you want.  Use "Detail" to select the documents you want to view.

It isn't a great website construction, but it does work.

I meant to write, ".... but many are."

Sorry for the reply to my own message, but I have been unable to find a method to edit my previous post.
