I installed a stereo in my 97 cavalier and now my dash lights and door chimes will not work. I may have accidentally shorted the illumination or dimmer wire.
I tested all the fuses in the fuse panel on the driver side door but they were all fine. Is there another fuse in a different location? If a fuse is not the problem, then what could it be?
Thanks,

you can speed up your search for the fuse by useing a test light, ,or a digital multi meter and check both sides of each fuse for continuity, , , , some times fuses will look ok, but don't let current pass.

check to make sure that the grey illumination wire isnt slightly bare behind the radio and shorting or that you didnt mistakenly use it as a speaker wire ( which i've seen done often )
