I recommend even to the most crappiest box builder to try building one.  I finished mine last night and today after time for the sealer to dry.  Put in my test/bass tones/tracks and tuned it little, and turned it up.  Notes its 1130, on a sunday.  Parents wondering what the hell is the noise from.  Turned to the river- a local college radio station, which plays jazz on sundays, LOTS of low bass guitar.  Least to say, my mother was thrilled how much air these lil 8's moved.

I attempted to make a double 8" folded horn.  After finding out that my subs have no specs- needed to make the box right, and since i was mostly done- had all but the inside pieces cut and put together.  I bullsh*tted thru it all.  yes i BS'd and made up my own design.  I can say that this box really kicks major ass.  Its louder than my 2 12's by far and the responce is insane.  There is one thing it can't do better than the 12's.... i can't find the name for it at this moment, but after a few days i can describe it better.

I need quality equipment, feel free to donate.

Its called the uglystick box.  Basically because i let it sit outside in the humidity and heat...and it kinda warped. lol  So i have a few edges that are no longer square.  Don't care though, i wasnt expecting it to be so good.  I bet if it was built right, it'd be way better.  Powering it is a kenwood 600 watt.  Bridged mono at 300rms to the two.   If you want me to make a paint drawing of the inside i will.

EDIT: hmm...looks like the pic server isnt working.....

this has nothing to do with a folded horn box, but i think im gunna give maxst a run for his money for the title of 'ugly stick'. i've got two thin cardboard tubes, one 8" and one 10", one inside the other. the gap is filled with cement and capped of with bondo in either end. the speakers are sealed with silicon sealer to fill in any air gaps. its so damn heavy, but atleast it cant viberate agains anything in the car :)
I had Cheetos and wine for dinenr.
