8 gauge wire to battery side terminal?

how can i hook a 8 gauge power wire to a side terminal battery, what would i need to do it?

You either get a new battery terminal or you get a ring connector, take off the nut on the current battery terminal, use a wire brush to scrape all the corrosion off, put the ring terminal on the screw and put the nut back on nice and tight.2009 Pontiac G8 in planning stage

if you bought an amp wiring kit. the ring terminal connector that comes with it should be more than sufficient.

Both above suggestions are good, also you can get ring connectors on Ebay for cheap... Just watch out for S/H prices. Some people try to rip you off, but not everyone. You can ask if they'll just send you the terminals in a regular envelope, some people are nice enough to do that, if you only order a few (obviously not if you order like 250) and then charge you like $.50 or whatever for S/H.2009 Pontiac G8 in planning stage

as yes but the beauty of doing it properly with a battery tap is that you never need to disconnect the battery again to deal with audio, security, fog lights, etc.     the side post tap reconnects the OEM cable to the battery and then leaves you a terminal to which you can connect any direct battery connection... this way you can disconnect your amp without disconnecting the battery..... and they're all of about 7 bucks.... dare to dreamKevin Gerry
