had a matrix 3.5 installed in my car roughly 3 months ago. Never had a problem. All of a sudden though, something is weird with the remote. It lost half it's volume, and when the doors are locked, the lock is unlocked on my remote, and vice versa when the doors are unlocked, the status on the remote says its locked.

Is there a way to reset the remote?. I changed the batts, so that isn't the issue. I was thinking maybe if I keep the battery out of the remote for a few hrs, that would reset it?

Any ideas?

you could try to clear all transmitters and re-learn it....

make shure your door trigger wire is hooked up, and your igniton wire.open a door, turn the key on, press and release the valet button 10 times then hold it the 11 time , and press any button. it should be deleted.turn the key off. then repeat the process only this time hold the valet button on the 9 time, should auto learn the remote.

if i'm not mistaken the 3.5 auto learns on 1 not 9 now... i just did one last week

yep, just checked the install manual.... 12 will "delete all transmitters" and 1 will "Auto Learn Standard Configuration*"

ok, so what do I do?

first step would be to press the valet button 10 times and hold on the 11th?

and for the second, instead of repeating it and and holding it on the 9th, I just press and hold 1 time?

I did, they said it was a defective transmitter. Only reason because, the "beeping" that the transmitter makes when you unlock and lock the doors is half its normal volume.

I didn't buy it from them. I work for Best Buy, and I got it from DEI direct under an accomodation program.

Getting back to the question, what exactly do I need to do to reset the transmitter?
