Poor radio reception: need booster

I shaved the antenna off of my car. I hated the way it looked and just got rid of it. I knew I was going to lose the radio and didn't care since I hardly ever use it. However, I just moved and I want to be able to get a few local stations since I know the people that run it. Is there anything I can built or buy so I don't need an antenna on my car?

look at Metra's magnetic field antenna... we use them on boats, etc and they do a respectable job.....
