I have $900 to spend and a 97 Pathfinder LE. I want to purchase 4 6 1/2" speakers to replace all the stock door speakers and 2 tweeters to replace the stock ones. On top of that I would like a single or dual sub setup. And I would also need an amp or amps to make this baby run. Can this be done for $900 without install? Please Help
Thanks

looking for decent quality but not break your pocket look at Street edge internals and subs. They are made by memphis so you can generally get at a memphis dealer or I can ship to you if needed.    6 1/2's should be more then $75 a set subs should be more then $75 a sub. tweeters shouldnt be more then $40 a set. find your deck on ebay or on here in the buy/sell catagory.   box you can build your self if you have the tools or myself or many here would do. internal amp coulnd use street edge 4 channel less then $200   sub amp find on ebay street edge dosent have one yet.     Hmmmmmm I just pushed my new company and myself any other inputs. haha

You will need a 6.5" component set, and a 6.5" coaxial set, you can't go with speakers any deeper than about 2.25" , iv gotten 2.5" deep with some modding.  IM guessing you have the bose system??  You will need to re wire all 4 speakers right to the new deck, its going to be a heuge pain with the skinny door boots. As for a deck, stay away from sony and stuff, stick with Eclipse, Alpine, nakamichi, and maybe the way upper Pioneers .  Look for a deck with 3 sets of RCA pre outs for system upgrades in the future.  The 3rd pre out is a dedicated subwoofer output so you can play with the sub level separately from the rest of the system.

With that price area, it would be best for you to just go with 1 12" sub, a 2nd sub wont get much louder.

Everyone has there opinions on brands, and alpine is mine, i don't know if you like it, but heres a system i would reccomend to you:

Deck -  CDA-9830 $220 E-bay

Front Components - SPS-171A $ 95 E-Bay

Rear Coaxials - SPS-170A  $40  , or just leave the rears stock since you don't hear them really

Sub Amp- MRD-M500 $200 or MRD-M501 $275

Sub SWR-1241D $ 95

Thats like $725, and thats a wild system, you would have money left over to get a speaker amp too.

Like a MRV-F340, you can bid on mine fer $149.99 97 pathfinder, $900 to spend on stereo -- posted image.

By the way, , good choice on your truck!

I can sell a entire new system outta my store for 900 bucks Canadian that will sound pretty good so if you are gonna shop online you will be able to nail this easy. I would suggest you mabye go and listen to stuff at local stores first and see if you can buy locally and stay in your budget. If so it makes service so much easier if the need arises and then at least you suport the local shops which seems to be becoming a lost thing these days. Listen to some gear and write back what you found that you liked and we can give you some pros and cons as to what you chose.

Maybe for the sub you could get away with a 10 instead.  Because the pathfinder is like a hatchback so it would sound nice...and save some money.  I'd buy an Eclipse or Alpine sub as well...those alwyas sound nice in my opinion.  I'd buy a decent model as well.  Pay for what you get right so yea.  whatever works out with for ya.
