hi...

I had installed a compustar alarm on my 97 civic coupe for about 2 years now and haven't had any problems until recently.  When I arm the car it says that my door trigger (-) is activated on the remote.  I initially thought it may have been a loose wire, and then thought that it may possibly be that the car's door trigger wasn't working properly.  But I have tested these theories and have ruled them out.  I have also tried using the (+) door trigger on the module to see if that would work, but no luck as well.  So basically I'm stumped.  Am I overseeing something or did my module just get screwed all of a sudden??? Any more ways I could go on testing this to find the problem??

Thanx in advance!

Are the doors and trunk/hood on seperate wires? If the same, I would check those pin switches.

yeah the doors, trunk, and hood are all seperate wires, like I said I've pretty much ruled out the possibility of a wiring problem..

thanx

Try disconnecting the (-) connection from the car to the alarm CPU wiring harness and arm the vehicle. If you still get an error on the remote control, then you have a short somewhere. If the problem goes away, try using the (+) as you stated above, but you will need to use a relay to reverse the polarity of the (-) trigger system that the Civic outputs to a (+) so that the Compustar can use this signal to activate the alarm.
