Security Alarm Remote control question

Hello, I currently have a Viper alarm security system installed in my car. The remote has four buttons, one to open the trunk, silent entry, normal entry, and remote autostart. For one of the remotes, all of these functions work fine but the spare remote, which I haven't used in a while, blinks when I press the individual buttons but it doesn't affect the car at all. Is there any way this remote control can be simply reprogrammed by the bodyshop? or will this be an extensive process that will require the whole electrical system to be rewired? Because I have to take it to a different shop then the one which installed the alarm in the first place, I'm not sure whether the whole alarm system will need to be reinstalled just to get this one remote control to work? Or is there anyway to somehow reprogram both remote controls without extensive work having to be done on the car? Any comments will be greatly appreciated! Thank you very much!!

You probably just need to reprogram the remote to the system. Find your instructions for the process. It involves a combination of hitting the valet button and choosing the channel, then hitting the button on the remote you want for that channel.

it should be a breeze to reprogram assuming that the installer who originally programmed the system didnt lock programming with a bitwriter...if he did your buggered without taking it back to them to unlock.....Kevin Gerry
