Driver door lock sticking

Hey,

My 00 Civic seems to be having this problem, Sometimes it works somtimes it doesn't.Here's the symptoms:Upon Lock/Arm- diver lock only won't go down,  but moves slightly                               When locked manually, all actuators soundUpon Unlock/Disarm- Locks will all unlock except (driver door halfway) then immediately locks again.                                         If they don't lock again, they do when you pull the driver door handle.Occasionally they will work fine.Very frustrating. Is this a bad actuator, or could it be a bad connection. I might have used a t-tap, but i can't remember   .  I know, I get lazy. I aways seem to take shortcuts on my own vehicle, but spend way longer than neccessary on customer cars. Any help would certainly prevent a large footprint, approximately the size of my foot, from appearing in my door.Thanks in advance.

if the car had factory power locks and you triggered from the alarm..then yea its a bad actuator...if you actually added all the actuators then triggered from the alarm then it could be bad placement of the actuator

Are you trying all of this with the drivers door open or closed?? What you are describing sounds similar to what honda designed to keep you from locking your keys in the car. Honda designed the driver's door not to lock if the door is opened. The only way to lock it with the door opened is to pull the inner door handle as you hit the lock button (as you described, I think). If you are trying all this with the door closed and it still isn't working properly I'm not sure exaclty how the anti-lock out system works but maybe that is broken and you should check that out.  Money is just paper

Thanks guys,        The actuators are originals, and the doors are all closed.So the concensus seems to be a bad actuator. Now, should i go with better ones, or should i stick with a oem replacement? Any suggetions on where my best buy would be?Thanks again,     Ryan2000 Honda Civic 4DR

The actuators that xtremeaudio directed you to are not direct replacement to your OEM ones. Those are actually just generic aftermarket ones ment to go into any car to add power door locks. Those will work just fine with your car but dont expect to be able to swap out the OEM ones for those. If you did want to got the aftermarket route, the aftermarket ones usually are easier to install than the OEM ones and are generally cheaper. I would suggest going that route and at $9.99 for a pair on that e-bay auction you really can't beat that price. Money is just paper

i put on 2000 honda civic 4 door 1 front and 2 on the back take me 1hour all you do hook to oem door lock rod and wire 2 door on the back more easy 30min the door on the take longer you don't have to remove oem

Yeah like xtremeaudio said when you install the aftermarket ones you dont have to remove the factory ones. Just disconnect them and hook those wires to the new actuators. Mounting directions should also be included with the aftermarket actuators and will explain how to attach everything. Money is just paper
