Hi I am really begging for help here. This is a very basic question...

I just received my JVC chx 1500rf cd changer and want to install it on my 2004 Ford Taurus SES. I was wondering if anyone would give me some basics on how to do this. There are three cables I have to plug in....Red (12 v power) Yellow (memory) and Black (Ground). I looked down in the accessory box and where the fuses are and have no clue as to where I should plug them in. I have installed a stereo before but never a cd changer...I have no idea where to plug these in.. Please help... Thank you for you help.

you don't plug them in anywhere. you need to tap into a constant power source, a switched power source and a ground. My reccommendation is that you take it somewhere to get it installed professionally. ask the installers if you can watch them do it. this way you'll learn and not potentially ruin your car.

Please disregard!! I found the power source in the trunk...now I just need to figure out how to plug in the cd changer into that source......please read my other post about Ford....cd changer

You can plug the red wire to the radio fuse, the yellow wire to cigarette lighter or horn fuse. (This is always on). Find a bolt under the dash board and tie the black wire under the bolt. Scrape any paint away from the bolt. That's the easiest way.

One other thing. If this comes with a black box, remove the antenna jack from the back of the radio and plug that into the hole in the box (antenna input). Plug the antenna out from the black box to the back of the radio. Tune your radio to 89.1 fm. Once you have your wires hooked up you should hear the CD through 89.1.

this vehicle does need antenna adaptors as well. its not a standard antenna connection.

Update:

I found the radio box in the trunk to the left and found which cable has a direct power line.....I can't figure out which one is the ACC cable...........I turned on the car and then checked each wire but none of them showed power...only the direct power source (Red with Yellow) Where can I find the ACC wire for Memory???

Also......what can I use to tap into this power source and is that recommended...having two things run on same wire??? Please reply asap. Thank a lot!

See the above posted yesterday. Strip and solder your wire connections, then wrap well with electrical tape. You can run two of the loads you are using on that 12v power source wire.

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.
