I purchased a cheap LED flasher (fake alarm) for $2 as a safeguard before my alarm gets installed proper.

The LED flasher has two wires. I hooked up positive to constant power and the negative to the ignition wire. Nothing happens. I want this LED to flash when the car is switched off, and not to flash when the car is running.

When I put +ve with memory and -ve to ground the LED actually works, but obviously this is not the setting I want.

Could anyone help with this 2-wire config. ??

Many accessory and ignition wires switch to ground when the car is off. You must simply find one of these wires and connect your ground to that wire, otherwise you will have to put in a relay.
