Back in April you posted abou hooking up the dome light supervision and double pulsing the locks to keep them from going to sleep. I was wondering if you could explain this a little better. Are you just hooking up to the dome light or are you using it as a sensor to supply voltage to the locks to keep them awake.

To "wake" up the BCM, tap onto the drivers door trigger with the illuminated entry output from the keyless. When the unlock command is sent to the keyless, the the unlock pulse and ill. entry output will most likely trigger at the same time. There won't be enough time for the BCM to wake up and unlock. This is where the double pulse unlock signal will pulse again to unlock the doors after the BCM thinks the door is open

Hope this helps.

mark.

Thanks for the info. I had the shop to upgrade the car to a 554r valet and I have to take it back in this week to get the emergency brake problem fixed, so I will let them know how to fix the door lock problem. You have been alot of help.

I was wondering if you are doing this in a loaded impala or a stripped version. My wifes car has it where all the options are set on the radio. The reason for asking is the installer  said that they way you are doing the locks only works on the older impalas.  He also siad DEI said that it would not work in my wifes car.
