Guys i am thinking of building a square box for my sub, the size is 16"x16"x16" = 1.76 cu feet <----after -'s 1.5" from the MDF. Will the calculation give me a prefect square box....one more thing where is the best place to place the port??? i can't put the port on the same size as the sub...so what r another way and are there any rule when place the port???
btw if i tune the box @ 38 hert is that SPL???
Would 33 hert be better for both SPL and SQ??
Cheers :)

What sub are we talking about?  Do not tune the box below what is called for, it will not help your situation.  Did you account for the displacement of your port?  The displacement of the subwoofer?

I was not able to find any information or any Kicker line named EX.  We (you) need to identify your sub before any solid recommendations can be made.

The sub's displacement will be given by the manufacturer.  Calculate the port's volume by multiplying the radius squared by pie (3.14) then multiply by the length of the port.
