Iv got a 04 dodge dak standard cab with center console and I'm thinking about making a custom console box. I should have room for  a ported 8w7 or one sealed 10w7. Iv got a 500/1 so power is not a problem.

WinISD is telling me that the ported 8 "F3 == 26hz" will have a lot better response than the sealed 10 "F3 == 41hz". If this is true I'm all for the 8.

I'm lookin into the same.  Heard the 10w7 and two 10w3v2 yesterday.  Should I go w/ the vented 10w7 or the two sealed 10w3v2?

What kind of sounds are you going for? Do you want more SPL, SQ, or what? That plays a big role in how you should design your setup.

I'm going for both.  I know that JL will put out in the sql but will the sealed 500 watt 10W7 dominate (in spl) the two 10w6v2 in a ported?

Im going for the ported 8w7. I was told the today by a JL rep that the the F3 of any of the W7's is below the porting frequency if you use there box and tuning volumes. the 8 is tuned at 32hz. as for the 10 in a sealed its F3 is 40hz. so with the same volume of air plus the volume of the ports I get better responce as well as being a little louder.

I'm sure you'll like it if you power it properly.I have done 2 Dodge P-up's with MTX 9500 10's and ported it down towards th carpet.Awsome sound from a single driver.

its a 400W rms sub and I will be feeding it with a 500/1. If it's as loud as if is massive im in for a lot of bass. As i'v said I'll keep you up to date from now till i get an RTA/SPL done.
