So i swapped out my headunit (panasonic) yesterday, and while driving @ night, I noticed NO insturmentation light what so ever. This morning, i went ahead and checked every fuse in the car that I could possibly find to no avail. Then I went ahead and even pulled out the new headunit and it still wouldn't work. I checked the wiring harness and all the wires looked like a good connection.

The only wires that I were concerened about were the following

Headunit Yellow ------ Yellow -----SChoche Harness this shoud be main power

Red ------- Red ----- Schoche Harness this shoud be ACC

The headunit holds memory of the stations and time, and will not turn on when the car is off so I think these should be right too..

Any help guys and gals.. I'm stumped.

Forgot to add, this is on a 2002 Suzuki Grand Vitara

Also have a Clarion VRX815 for sale if anyone is interested :)

have you checked for multiple fuse boxes? most newer vehicles have more than one fuse box in them... sure sounds like a blown dash light fuse....

Ive only got two fuse boxes that I know of and checked both. ARG

Could be a problem with your illumination wire. Do your parking lights and taillights work? I had a problem like that on my car...sort of a long story, but that could be your problem to.

I'll check to see if the parking lights turn on, but when I activate or deactivate my alarm, those lights will flash correspondingly

you wouldn't have happened to be playing around with the dimmer switch or perhaps unplugged it? btw, when you say you were arming and disarming your alarm, is it an aftermarket one or a factory one? some factory alarms flash hazard lights rather than parking lights. good luck!

Figured it out.

Pimpincavy, thanks for the tip, turns out it was a hairline fracture in my parking light fuse.

I have a Viper alarm, wans't sure if it was flashing those parking lights or hazards or some weird ones, which it flashes.

which is why i always recommend metering a fuse in circuit instead of just looking at it...............
