Can someone please tell me where exactally to locate the dataline, so that i can connect a pldata bypass unit on a 04 Monte Carlo. OBD II. And is it in the same location on other Passlock II vehicles.

You should be able to use the purple off the OBDII plug. The pldata instructions should tell you where to locate the wire and what color it is. Just double check anything before you decide to move on.

pin 2 at the diagnostics plug is the Data wire on ALL OBD-II vehicles.

On your GM it happens to be purple wire.
