Hey guys I got a simple question. I have a sony deck with a single set of preouts. (I know "Sony sucks" but I got it cheap since I used to work with Sony and got good deals.) Anyway... I have a 01 Jetta and I hooked up the deck to the existing Monsoon system. Since it works with the speaker wires I didn't have to use  the preouts on the deck. Is there any difference with a preout for an amp for the speakers vs. a sub preout, besides the volume controll? If there is a built in crossover in my amp for the sub it wouldn't be a problem to use it, right? Thanks guys.

Tom

A single set of preouts would be full range, and can be used for an amplifier for either regular speakers or a subwoofer.  Use the LPF on the amp for the sub
Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.
