External Alarm Trigger Relay specs

I hope that topic was detailed enough... I am looking for information regarding car alarm trigger wiring. The wiring where I would attach other monitoring devices to monitor alarm states. Specifically, what I was told is that alarms are usually either Voltage or Contact Closure triggers. Within that there are: Voltage - Normally High or Normally Closed? Contact Closure - Normally Open or Normally Closed? The question is which is more prelevant? is there an industry standard? What does Directed use? Is it the same for all of Directed alarms? Other companies? Really appreciative for any information.

That is some what correct. There are sensors which measure and react to the following stimulie. Temperature, sound, pressure, light, heat, time, etc.

All of the above sensor(s) types can be purchased from almost any alarm manufacture. Whether they work well, and consistently, is another matter.

I dont understand your Q? If you are referring to what signal is sent to the alarm CPU, it is a (-) signal.

Well, What I am up to is trying to get something triggered off a car alarm based on industry standards... Like a car alarm will trigger headlights or a horn with pulses. Or turn on a siren or chirper. I have a 4 camera and 2 microphone system which needs to integrate with alarms of all kinds. In designing the install manual I was not sure how complicated the integration with existing systems needed to be. Your answer tells me what I need to know. What I hear is "All of the above sensor(s) types can be purchased from almost any alarm manufacture." any would really be easy to integrate. Therefore the software for the InSight recording system I am installing does not need to be quite so complicated. piggyback on the siren wire and I have my n/c trigger.
