at STEERING COLUMN HARNESS                                                         

If you want to learn first hand how to verify each connection point. Please do the following. DOOR TRIGGER: Set your DMM on DCV / DC 20 volts range. Connect your (-) negative DMM lead to the chassis frame / ground. Probe the trigger wire which you believe is the door pin. If it is, then it will show +12 VDC when you depress the switch, and goes back to 0 volts, upon the rest / open position. PARKING LIGHTS: Set your DMM to DCV / DC 20 volts range. Connect the (-) negative DMM lead to chassis frame / ground. Probe the wire in the light switch which you suspect as being the one. Turn on the parking light switch and it should show 12 volts, when you turn it off, it will go back to 0 volts. Remember, if you probe the wrong wire, such as the dimmer light switch, it will vary the voltage with the setting. So make sure it is the actual switch, as it will not vary at all, or very little. Just wanted to give you a few reference materials to speed along the install process. I am glad you want to take time to learn and understand how to check each connection. Many others simply want to read the charts, and move on. That does nothing for the person who wants to learn, or fully understand what to do when a problem arrises.
