Hey All -

In the past month or so Ive had an odd reoccuring problem in my 99 Jeep Wrangler that seems to fix itself, then rear its ugly head a few days later, which its getting rather frustrating. Seems to be here for good now. Here are the symptoms:

Turn signals/Hazard lights are not working. The fuse is blowing immediately upon startup, so no signal at the lights or on the dash. From what I can tell, bulbs and sockets are good. Any suggestions/diagnosis? Which color wires are the ones going to the turn signals from the harness coming from the steering wheel. Im hoping its not a in line short, but knowing what wires what would help in diagnosising if that seems to be where things are pointing. Have also swapped in a new flasher and turn signal switch to no avail. . Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I hope this is right for a jeep, it's the wire colors for a chevrolet truck but I think they would be the same.

dark green- right turn power/brake light

light green- reverse power

yellow- left turn power/ brake light

red- marker light power.

Isn't a jeep a daimler chrysler? Wouldn't be the same as a chevy truck.

Its probly a short somewhere in the harness. You'd have to get a manual for your vehicle and then find out where all the wires involved with the signal / harzard lights are located in the jeep. look for a cut or semi broken wire that is contacting metal.

Get one of those HANYES books they will tell you everything you need to know and more.

I had intermittent problems with my Grand Cherokee '93. Got to playing around

after checking bulbs etc and discovered the left turn signal only didn't work when

the tilt wheel was in full up position. If I put it anywhere below that, the left

worked fine. If you have a tilt wheel try it.
