wat is really the big difference between the 750lcd and the 850lcd. is the range any better or is it just more features. i have a civic manual without power door locks but got actuators for it and will put that on soon.

Well there is one thing that is the same about both: They are not designed for manual transmission vehicles? If you dont never install the remote start features, then you can use it as just an alarm, but otherwise you should get a unit designed for manual transmission vehicles.
Otherwise: I cant say about the range, but I have a 750 and the range is fine. There are no auxiliary outputs on the unit besides the trunk output. The 850 has a bunch of aux. outputs. Otherwise there is not much difference as far as I know.

the 750 transmitter is an AM frequency, while the 850 is  a FM frequency

1000 feet AM 2000 feet FM

AM won't work if you are in a metal building and try to use the transmitter

electronics run off of smoke, when you let the smoke out they stop working
