Do I need a especial type of transponder bypass for this car I try using some of the universal type and the car would not start, I did some research and says that I need to buy this DEI 555B Bypass Module  whats the diference beteween this and the universal type? if so  who do you recomend buying from?

you can either use the dei 555b, or go to a bmw dealer and purchase a "EWS steering wheel lock antenna ring" part # 61-35-8-364-709. i've had good success with the bmw piece as well as the 555b. they both cost around the same. the universal transponder bypass modules just plain won't work. i recommend the dei 555b because it comes with instructions....the bmw piece doesn't.

Universal piece = 18 windings around the key 555B=60 turns around the key.
