Alright I am puzzled now, I have recently bought a 94 cavilier for a project car, if any of you have folowed me I have a 98 honda civic show car, and now this.  I was installing a new alpine (deadhead) to be exact, and all was fine for about a week and a half....then a hell broke loose,  while driving the radio kinda fizzled and came back then went off no power at all.. I thought alright fuse no biggy, pull over and all fuses on radio and under dash are fine..i look for a box under the hood and surprisingly could not find one, I looked for a good 10 minutes and there just isnt one, the relays and other such's are on the fire wall but no more fuses. I pressed the reset button on the radio thinking maybe that, nothing....well me being the dumb ass I am I rip into the radio trying to figure it out on my own..big mistake now I have a $600 piece of crap till I mail it in to have it fixed from me...I tested and I have no 12V C no 12V S    and so I have wired my spare JVC onto the ignition harness for the meantime but would like to know why my power is gone from my radio controls     I have heat controls and everything else works on my dash but this is the only thing that dosent....Please HElp

i cant understant what is going on with your car but which wire are you getting no power from the constant or the non constant 12 volt source if it is either i mean to trace wires is a you know,  i mean tape off that wire that used to work and run another cause that is weired for the line to go dead and the fuse is still live change fuse sometimes you cant see the breaks.

mecp certification is not always needed. I have it and it has not helped me out at all. my experience out shines it.

I would test the power at the fuse with a Multimeter.  if its dead or weak i would replace it.  if it has power there is a break in the power wire.  If it were me i would just run a new wire direct, fused, from the batteyr as suggested before.  Thats the best bet.  sometimes its better to replace certain components tahn to repair them, or even figure out what is wrong with them.

i would not run any radio stuff directly too the battery because more noize is introduced to the system than needed . or wanted plus no matter how many fuses there are something is more liekely to happen when you connect straight to battery. find another possitive or switched source  best bet.

Another thing to check would the the terminals in the fuse box.. If there where fuse taps in the box it may have opened up the clips and fuses are just not fitting in tight enough to make contact.. just something that I've seen happen before..
