I just purchased and am installing a Nitro 2 way remote starter/alarm/entry kit in a 2004 Kia Sedona minivan. I don't have the whole thing done yet, but I'm trying to test the starting.

The doorlocks aren't hooked up yet, but the alarm works when the car is bumped.

When I use the remote to start the vehicle, it turns over, but doesn't fire. With the key, it starts right away.

I haven't yet hooked up the doorlock wires, the signal lights, or the A/C wire. Would any of these cause it not to start for any reason?

I haven't been able to find a manual or a wiring diagram for a 2004 Kia, but I WAS confident I tapped into the correct wires until it didn't fire...

I'd appreciate any advice. thanks.

How is the RS set-up?  Current Sense, Tach, Spark Plug, etc.??

Wouldn't U think it would be best to Install completly first?

Hi there, thanks for the info.

This is my first attempt to install a multi-functional system (I did a single remote start a couple years ago, but there was a lot less to it...) and I wanted to test my progress before deciding if I should turn it over to a professional.

Maybe it's normal for it not to start until I have the other components installed, I was just trying to get some idea if I had done something wrong before I went any further. I'll finish up and test it again.

thanks again for the wire chart.

does your car have a pats type of anti-theft (chip in the key)? I am guilty of testing an unfinished system also and if the remote start part is incomplete or incorrect it won't start but this is a great way to learn trouble shooting i wouldn't give up but thats just me,
