Please help me identify the following part. It has a cylinder shape with the markings 1(ohm symbol), 47, 16v. Its from an Audiovox V0702 Overhead TV/DVD system. Where can I get a replacement since the old one broke off from the weld. I'll upload a photo as soon as I fugure out how to save them smaller.

it's probably the antenna signal booster and you could get it at most radio shacks

the vo702 is the overhead that has dvd built into the back of the screen right?

That's correct the VOD702 is an overhead mobile video system. I think the name of then part I'm trying to ID is Surface Mount Capacitor. I'm trying to find either a schematic or a service manual for this unit to make sure I get the right part. Capacitors are not expensive but selecting the wrong one can be expensive in repairs.

47 micro farad capacitor rated at 16 working volts is what you need. If it is surface mounted it is easy to replace.

that is a very common part in many radios..

just check out an old stereo or two,and i bet you'll find one quickly,and for free! this is where i get most of my diodes,along with old alarms i take out of peoples cars!

and all the various resistors i need for one wire door locks..etc..relays...transistors for lvt's..you get the idea..look in a stereo,i cant think of an alarm that would have had such a cap..

oh yeah.. watch out for polarity,you have to make sure you follow the arrow on the cap..or it's like you did nothing!..i guess worst case you will toast the cap..i doubt it is non-polar..
