i'm having trouble selecting an amp for my system. i'm going to get a brahma sub and some mb quart speakers. at first i was thinking go with hifonics brutus for the brahma and then a hifonics zeus series for the quarts. then i started looking more. i started reading about memphis amps and have recently been looking at phoenix gold. what are you're opinions on these amps? are there other ones that i should consider? thanx

I would argue that Hifonics amps are on par, or at least very close to the quality of jbl, kicker, mtx, etc. Not to mention Hifonics amps can be found for quite a bit cheaper than those brands. If you want a really high quality amp, go with memphis,jl,eclipse, or MMATs (just to name a few). As far as pheonix gold amps go, they arent as good as they once were.

orion amps are good amps. i have used them for over 15 years, several different models. they have strong, clean power.

If you can find a older orion amp, buy it in second. They are great amps and can be hard to find. New orion amps are good to, as are the precision power/directed audio amps. I would stay away from the directed xtreame amps though.

Don't count out HiFonics amps. Most guys that bitch about them have no experience with them. The Zeus series is ok for mid bass/treble apps. For real blast apps. use a Brutus series for bottoms of the XX for the best of the best. They are 2nd to no one!
