Hey peps..

I am going to cry...I cant get my 3 pioneer pieces to work all together through the IP bus sustem.
I have the following...
AVH-P6400CD (head unit/monitor)
SDV-P7 (dvd player single unit)
GEX-P900XM (regular XM tuner)
I can get the HU to control the XM.
I can get the HU to control the DVD.
But when I try to get all 3 hooked up..only the dvd works.
I have it hooked like so.
HU to dvd, dvd to XM
Would it make a difference if I went...
HU to XM, XM to dvd?
I cant see how or why the order matters...but maybe it makes a difference. If so, that means buying another BUS cable and thats 30 bucks...so I was hoping someone had some insight. Does the order matter or is my dvd player I just got busted!!? HELP PEOPLE!!
THANKSSSS

hi elite,

For the 6400 to recognize your xm tuner you must have a dvd in the P7 dvd mechanism.  Until you have a DVD the radio will not even acknowledge the xm tuner.  This info is straight from pioneer tech support when we had a similar problem.  What you can do is run the 6400 to the xm then to the P7 and you will always be able to access the unit.  But as you previously stated it requires the purchase of an additional ip bus cable.

Hope this helps

so I talk to pioneer, and like you said..the unit needs a cd to work.  I think I have a cd in there but I will verify.....but it still didnt work.  When I ran an additional cable, (which was male/female) that I borrowed to test it totally worked perfectly.  Problem is Its hard to fin and direct its close to 40 bones...

I swear its all connected correctly..but still didnt work....I think the SDV-P7 is defective....maybe!

Ill try not to cry...but a few more days wothout XM...my kill me

Thanks..good advise....ill try some more at lunch!
