install amp

what would i need to install a 700 watt amp or 2 -300 watt amp's . all this would be going into a 2001 chevy trail blazer  V-6 4.3L . i know the alternator has to be upgraded to push the needed power to run these amp's . so any idea's on this project

---A simple upgrade would be to simply run a 10 gauge jumper wire from the #2 terminal on the alternator to the Batt post on the alternator boosting the signal... if in fact you have the Delco 10-SI. Plus, a lot can be had from the company known as JC Whitney if you have already purchased a polished alternator and don't want to go through the pain of trying to sell it. An upgrade can be done simply using a kit that you can purchase from them... or by taking it to an alternator/starter rebuilder.

---FWIW, I have spoken with my local alternator/starter rebuilder and he has informed me after inquiry, that no-one has ever asked this as I did, but after upgrading the alternator he can install a "dial-in regulator" of sort in my system to meet the needs of the system once I decide to add more compnents (i.e, more off-road lights, additional audio/video components, etc.) so that the alternator is puting out what is needed rather than over-charging the battery. IH wiring is a little different than the gM wiring, but the system can still be understood by a good* rebuilder.
