Alright, just installed the Crimestopper CS-2011 RSIV alarm, keyless entry, remote all-in-one combo kit into my '01 dodge ram 1500 pickup.  At this point I'm only concerned with the Remote Start feature and all else is on hold.  At first everything seemed to work ok when I pressed the remote start button.  Turned on like a champ, i would manually turn it off (step on brake pedal).  I did this about 3 times testing it and everything seemed to work fine.  However, all of a sudden on the 4th-5th try the truck would hesitate to start, and just sit there cranking but never start.  Come to find out, even when I try to manualy start it with the key the truck starts up and then immediately dies.  I now can't seem to start the truck and keep it running!!!  WTF?  The only thing I can think of is that I need an additional ACC2 ?  What would keep the truck from starting manually now??

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

PS.  using smart tachless mode..

How did you bypass the Immobilizer system ? Did you make sure that you used the ground out when running wire to ensure that the Sentry system doesn't see two keys at once causing a hard code ? What I would do is remove the system completely and try to start the truck again. This will eliminate the RS from being the problem. If it still doesn't start, then you have an immobilizer problem.

Next test all the wires on the ignition harness to make sure that all wires are being powered up when they are suppose to. Post your results.

what color is your the top of your key, if it is gray then you need a bypass to remote start it without the key being in the ignition.

That wont stop it from srarting with the key unless you did need a bypass and you hooked it up wrong ,Ibet you got the truck flooded by starting it and stopping it several times real fast. Let truck set 10 minutes and will probally start just fine.

No immobilizer system in this truck. '01 Dodge Ram 1500 (2nd Gen). Also, shouldn't need to bypass anything, unless you know of something specifically with this year model truck.
Oh, truck came with no power options, no keyless entry system, power door locks, power windows. Nada.
Thanks

Key color is black.  Not gray.

Thanks

I think you're right on, came back next morning and it started right up.  However, if I start and stop it several times it has a tendancy to hesitate in idle and want to die.  I have to give it a little gas and hold the accelerator in (RPM it around 2k) for a good 40 second and then all is well.

So, let's say that I don't mess with the system, let her sit for awhile come out remote start and stop it, works fine.  The behavior just seemed a little strange.  Anyone see similar behavior?
