no I was dead serious about the cap, I was just making a tounge in check joke about the motor not spinning the altenator. I think that caps have a very usefull but specific purpose. If caps are used properly I think they are a very usefull tool, but when a kid goes and buys one to make the lights in his honda civic stop blinking, then he is just either stupid or uninformed and mislead by friends/salesman

jensens is crap over hear as well so avoid it. And my comment about salesman was made because I hear salesman sell kids caps all the time saying it will stop the lights from flashing and thats usually bullsh*t and while it is sometimes a bi-product it is not thier purpose

Yeah, I totally agree about caps!

I heard people on the site comparing Jensen with AudioBahn and even though I dont think Audiobahn is a good brand, people were comparing it and choosing jensen!!!

Actually this does not surprise me at all.  Both are low-end brand names and are fairly equivalent, but Jensen amps do sound nice and warm... until they stop working.

Thanks for the link for the Ground Zero stuff. I had just asked about them a few weeks ago and very few replied. I had a set of their subs a few years back.

What I don't get about your install, civicnut, is that at the beginning you said the amps are going to be running at a 1 ohm load.  But later said that what you want is a nice, tight, clean sound.  Seems to me you are going for SQ but running the amps (and so, the speakers) at a SPL level.
Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.
