im having problems getting the RS function of this alalrm to work. the problem is that the car will start and then die right away as if the passlock 2 isnt bypassed, but it is. whats odd is that if the car was started with the key and you then i activate the RS viaremote and then  kill the engine with the remote it will restart again fine with the remote. however if you just shut the car off with the key and then get out the vehicle it will not start with the remote. this seems to be the only consistancy that i can find i have checked and rechecked all wires as well as the bypass module. any comments would be helpful.

thanks

JD

you need a bypass module.

give me more credit than that, Ive got one, and yes it is hooked up correctly.

i know this because i had a designtech RS in the same car before putting in the DEI. also remember the car will start via remote but only when its been turned off via remote, if the bypass was installed incorrectly it wouldnt start at all with the remote. its almost like its in a manual transmission mode beacuase you have to do the valet take over  then kill the engine via remote inorder to get it to restart via remote, but i dont see any options for that on this remote starter.

also im positive this vehicle has passlock2 not VATS

any other suggestions from anyone would be helpful

I am 100% sure thet the passlock is the problem.
You can try to let the key into the off position and try to start the car with the remote while the key is still in the car in off possition.
If the car starts then something is wrong with the passlock.
