Warpedhalo,

What kind of amplifier do you have? Do you have 2 1200 watt amps?

Remember  this, if you want it loud, the more cone surface area the better.  those square subs have 20% more cone surface than a round sub, so they will play extremely loud.  You could run 2 1200 watt amps to four of those subs and it would probably make you cry.

Deck -     Eclipse CD8443 - $475
Speakers - Boston BAZ5 - $1000
Amp -      Alpine MRV-T420 - $400
Car -      1988 PLymouth Colt - $450, it's been rolled!

HA, yeah, I imagine... But I only have about 10 cu. f.t of space in my car. I have a 3000 RMS amp, and I'd be fine running it at like 2400 becaue it's 80%. When you run it harder than that bad things happen..lol. I have about 38" accross and about 20 " height  to work with. I was wondering about audiobahn's ultra excursion 18s. WinIDS says they'll be about as loud as my immortals, but they'll play lower and dno't take as much power to get as loud. They displace more air than the immortals. I'd be totally happey with xxxs, but they're so dang expensive!

win isd has a spl chart, but its in acurate as all....well you get what im saying..I have had it tell me that one sub will be louder then the other and guess what way off,   the way to judge go to a show look around. see how the subs are being ran, by what? in what kind of box?   ect ect..You do get what you pay for, but there are a few sleepers out there..Biggest one for me was the SPL sub that are just huge, yes they are dirty but wow.   at $150 a sub for a 15 that big      I have seen 2 of them in the high 140's    148.x i believe   and this is on the term lab,   just sick

SPL was the brand? Isn't that made by power acoustik? But I am trying to get people's opinions... so whatever. If you say they're good, i'll check them out! Thanks!

If you're looking at SQ at a very low price I would pic the dbDrive over the Audiobahn.  I've heard booth on comparable systems and the dbDrive speakers sound better.  I can't remember off hand but I think that dbDrive is a sub company of JL or Crossfire.
