I was curious. I havent had time to stop by any mechanic shops to ask so i thought i'd ask you all. About how much does it cost to upgrade alternator. What do the prices range from and around how much is the labor at a car shop.I kno this varies by location, size, car or whateva, but accurate estimates always help. Thank you all.

What kind of car is it, specifically? The alternator will run between 250 to 400 for around 150 amps to upwards of 300 amps... also will depend on where you buy the alternator, where you have it installed, etc. I charge $250 for a BASIC installation, but it could be more. Basic install includes a #4 alternator cable, and custom high current application-specific custom manufactured terminals all soldered and shrink wrapped. You want bugger wire? More money. You got custom performance parts to interfere with installation? More money. Basically, the $250 I charge covers up to 4 hours of labor, with parts. Additional labor will cost more - It always does. You need to be more specific than something as open-ended as your question.
It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."
