ya i know what you mean. you just gotta be carefull in planning this out cause i know you dont wanna have screw ups. just take your time wit this and and double. even triple check things to make sure. what kind of car do you have?! and the reason why being you should make it removeable is cause...well depending on the car, especially a four door, you might wanna sell the car down the road in the future and then some one comes and sees what all you have done, and maybe they wont like it. but then again they might. and they'll maybe just want the car as a family car or they wanna do a completely diff set up as what you did.
the rear deck. does it have a slight curve? cause you just gotta keep in mind that fiberglass is weak in flat areas. but then again. there is metal bracing underneath the stock board so you should be fine with it. so ya just make the whole rear deck out of fiberglass.
i would also like a plan (like a drawing or something, useing paint on your pc is easy) cause would really be honoured to help you with this project and help you plann everything out and take you through the steps. and also give you creative ideas.

hehe...its the most kick ass 4 door family car IMO (for its age anyways).  Its a '78 mercury monarch....like i said, i dont have pics and it takes awhile to get them so I'm just gonna have to try to explain as best i can for now. heres the outside of the car....i wish i had interior pics.  the rear deck is solid metal except for the holes for the speakers and a heater....and its not flat...it has a curve and a buch of low areas (for some reason) but other than that its solid sheet metal...its possible to put down the tape and tinfoil and get very close to the edge and then use an adhesive like 3m to hold it there, thatway it will stay and is removeable...or it could be screwed in even, just access the screws via the speaker holes.  I will start working on a design for it...pretty busy right now so it probably wont get done till later or tomorrow.

thanks again for your help.
