1. voltage sense is not a wire, it is a option that alarms have so you do not have to hook up a tach wire.

2. to test for tach, put your DMM to AC and when the car is off it whould read 0V and when you crank it, it should vary between 1v - 6v when you rev the engine.

Always double check your wires with a DMM!!!
