isn't the oil pressure snsor a variable volt wire depending on the pressure?as the pressure climbs the volts go down?

sorry, a sensor is variable, as for a gauge

a sender, as most cars have, is a simple on/off pressure switch, set around 3 PSI IIRC, as for the low pressure light.
