i have looked thru here quite a bit, here is what i am wanting to do: add an amp and subs to the factory bose system in an 02 escalade.
the question(s) are:
1. do you use the sub wires out of the bose amp (rumored to be under the middle console)~ and if you run this way will it shorten the life of the bose amp or
2. use a converter from the back of the H/U and run to the amp and sub from here.
or am i way off base and is there a better option...thanks to all!!!

If all you want to do is add a sub and amp to the factory system, connect an LOC from the factory sub at the speaker.  This way you can still use the factory controls to modify the sound from the new sub.
