What's up guys!. I got myself a little problem. First off, I have a Kenwood KDC-MP922 that was professionally installed about a year ago.

I never had a problem with my deck, and it was always taken of. But, I noticed yesterday on the display that some "dots" were missing. For example, instead of the radio being on 92.3, it said "9.0". It was missing some things. Then a few minutes later, everything came back on, and it worked.

Today going to work, everything worked ok. Now tonight on my way home, I go to start my car, and the bottom half of the deck that has all the buttons on it wasn't lit, but the top half of the deck was. I turned it off, turned it back on, now it doesn't work at all!!. If I hold "source" to fully shut it off, the motor works, and it moves a tiny bit out, a tiny bit in.. and that's it.

Is there a way to do a full reset on the deck?. Does anyone know what my problem can be?.

This may sound wierd but here's another one of my home remedies to fix problems: go and buy one of those pink/blue eraser's and use the blue side of the erasure and clean the contacts with the corner of it. This cleans any dirt or debris off the contact that may not be connected to the unit properly. It works on most of the Alpine units that I have had in the past so it should work for you here as well. Post your results.

I have seen contact touble like this   deffinitally clean them and look for a reset behind he face, normally a small button that is recessed on the panel behind the face

tried all your advice. Still no go.

What's weird about it, is that it stays in the open position (just not powering on). Yet, if I take off the removal security plate.. a second later it does what it's supposed to do, and slides into the dash. Weird.

Any other advice?.
