help wiring '95 Volkswagen Jetta III

car: '95 Volkswagen Jetta III
amp: jensen 300w
sub: 2 10" JL audio box
durabrand cd player/ am/fm receiver
situation: cut factory wire harnesses in order to hook up a new am/fm receiver with cd changer and cannot figure out speaker wiring. anyone know a good site or diagram? (installdr.com has 95 jetta but some wires are different)
also, i cannot get any power to my amp, have wire set up on + battery terminal and all. im thinking i need a new battery or something... ive come close to the wire coding. what happens is when i get the + and - wires setup on one speaker, i hear a dim fizzing noise...(its almost like i can hear the beat of the song, only it plays it distorted). i have power on the cd player (battery, ground etc all hooked up correctly), its just not getting the right signals or something. checked fuses etc etc.
i have also heard that setting up systems in Jettas are near impossible, is this true and should i just resort taking it to a professional?

First...

You should have never CUT the harness. Next time, leave it be, stop being so cheap! I can go down the street and get any harness for any car for $15, metra brand.

If you had the harness, you would only need three wires anyways. I don't know the colors off hand, but there are tables here if you look to the left of the website homepage. If you had the harness, these wires would be black yellow and red for power.

You will probably need one of those VW amplifiers for the antenna too.

I did a similar system in a '95 Passat. It went remarkably well, I wired the factory tweets with the door speakers, ran new front and rear speaker wires. I found it to be a very 'install-friendly' car to work with.  I left all of that factory sound garbage alone. There is a plug available for $50, to bypass the amp, it may save alot of time, but it's another $50. The way I saw it, I had to run wiring  for the amp and CD changer anyways, so it didn't make a difference to me.

Maybe it's because I've installed before, I don't think it's a big deal to run a few wires through a car.

From what you wrote, you should take this to a professional before you destroy your car or equipment. If you're brave enouhg, you should take a step back, READ THE DIRECTIONS on this site and whatever came with your equipment. Chances are, most of your answers will be there.

If you left enough wire from the harness you cut off, match the colors and splice it back together, then go out and buy the aftermarket wiring harness for your car.  It will save you the aggravation you're going through now.   Good Luck!!
