i'm back! and with a Q about kickpods!

jeez its been too long since i have been on these forums. just been really busy trying to find a job and on top of that my net and phone are disconnected. AND just last night my grandma died so thats a bummer. ANYWAYS, my Q is that. if i was to build kickpods, what is the minimum speaker size i can put them into. cause i have 3.5" MB quarts right now and they're in my dash, and i know for a fact that its totally not worth putting 3.5" in kickpods.xTimx

I would do a good 5.25 or 6.5.  3.5 probably won't be a good speaker for down in a kick.  That's just my opinion.

I remeber that you keep blowing your 3 1/2 in the dash right? If I am right then go to a bigger speaker as they are generally more durable and as somene else also stated you will get much better midbass if you go to a 6 1/2 or even a 5 1/4double-secret reverse-osmosis speaker-cone-induced high-level interference distortion, Its a killer

alrighty..and well...not anymore (for blowing speakers) my stereo got stolen and have been w/o ever since so that sucks. i was actually thinking about getting 5 1/4 co-ax's but they dont nearly sound as good as the 5 1/4 comps. for mb quarts. and the comps are way more than the co-ax.xTimx

Personally, I have build custom kickpanels for my Explorer using 6.5's about 2 yrs ago, and personaly I didnt like how big they turned out. Personally I dont feel that you need kickpanels for midbass. I have a set of 3-way Focal components now, in which I build new kickpanels to house the 4" and tweeter of the set and put the 6.5" in the doors. Sounds great. Personally, with the size of 6.5" woofers, I dont like how big kickpanels for them turn out. I would go with a 4" or 5.25" component set personally. Wanted to at my 2 cents.
