I am thinking about gettin a viper 791xv alarm system. The thing is, i dont want to pay 200$ or more to get it installed. Is there any kind of material that i can get or that some of you may have that would be directions on how to install this system??
Thanks

thanks for that info.  I tried for an hr. this afternoon to find the wires but i cannot find the one that goes to the starter.  and there's not a 12v constant comming from my ignition switch harness(comming down steering column).  I found the horn wire and thats about the only one comming from the igntion switch that i could find.  is there any way that i could disconnect or unplug any of them to see what goes where??

There should be like 4  wiring at the ignition swtich.  You can track the wiring up the steeing column to your ignition swtich(key cylinder).  Did you take the cover off the steering column??   All your starting, power, accessary should be next to each other, if u find one u will find the others next to each other.   Make sure you use a DMM.

I had an 89 firebird formula with is essentially the exact same car. Your ignition switch is located on top of your steering column down by the pedals. The igintion wires that you are looking for will be coming out of the ignition switch (you will not be able to see the switch itself only feel it if  you stick  your hand on top of the column). There is also no need to take the cover off the steering column (actually the only way to do so is to take the steering wheel off). All the other wires (except tach which was under the hood) I found in the wiring harness in the drivers kick pannel.

Oh yeah the ignition wires will be of significantly larger guage (thicker) than all the rest.
