alright guys i'm gunna try out a couple of kicker L512's tommorow. I'm buyin the box and the subs and i need to use the audiobahn amp i have right now to run them for a little bit unfortunlately. The audiobahn amp is the A8000T model and its power rating is 1x800wrms@2ohms. The L5's can be run at either 2 or 4 ohms. I want to run the subs at two ohms as well as the amp. How do i wire these subs? They are DVC btw. The reason i'm asking is because i get confused by the diagrams. If someone could just explain to me how to wire the speaker wire to the voice coils and to the amp..it would be appreciated. Also correct me if i'm wrong on which ohm load i should wire the subs. Basically i want to run 400wrms to each sub for right now. So please explain to me how to wire the subs to get the power from my amp.

The L5s are available either in DVC 2 ohm or DVC 4 ohm.  The lowest load you can put on the amp is total 2 ohms.  Get the DVC 2 ohm models and wire them series/parallel:

There are two voice coils on each sub, so take one sub at a time.  Run a single wire from the neg. of coil 1 across the magnet to the pos. of coil 2.  Now the coils are series-wired, and the impedance of that sub is 4 ohms.  Do the same for the second sub.

With both subs ready, each with coils series-wired to 4 ohms, now you want to connect the two subs in parallel.  Do that by connecting the open pos. terminal of sub 1 to the open pos. terminal of sub 2.  That pos. wire continues on to the amp pos.  Run a wire for neg. the same way, using the open neg. terminals of both subs, and continue the wire to the amp neg.

Wiring diagrams can be a little confusing because they look like you have to make "T" connections in the wiring, but that is only to make the illustration neat.  You just connect directly from one terminal to the next.  This is my rendition of series/parallel wiring with DVC subs (same configuration as the diagram above):

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.
