I've installed a new Prostart remote starter in a 2002 cavilier, with man trans. All safetys work, idle mode, but on remote start, starter runs and motor fires but won't stay running in on position. This vehicle has only one ignition wire and I don't know what I've missed. Tach learning responds and no codes flash. Any help would be much appreciated.

Sounds like possibly passlock to me.

With the key left in the ignition (just stuck in, still in the off position) any better results? if so, it's passlock.

If not, is the carstarter actually shutting down? (Stick a light on your ignition lead, does it shut off with the car or stay on for a few more seconds?) If it stays on, well, that sounds like passlock again? Does that starter allow you to activate it while running (DEI type of feature) so you can pull the key and walk away with it still running, Try that too.

Let me know what your results are.

Tim
