Can someone please help me to clarify the proper way to diode isolate +12 switched pacrking lights.

use negative trigger for the parking lights. Cut your parking light wire and insert the diode with the stripe facing the bcm and connect your parking light wire on the side of the diode away from the bcm. This will isolate it so the check engine light wont come on. (or refer to directfax doc #1600 for illustration)
