headrest wires

I will be installing lcd'ss in the headrets of a 2002 suburban. I have found many articles on how to install the lcd pannel and I am ready to give it a shot. The question I have is how to run the wires through the leather seat. The headrest poles are solid, so I can not run the wire down the center (this would be slick). So I guess I'm forced to run the wires on the outside and cut a hole in the top of the seat. What is the best way to make this entry hole? Is there a plastic bushing that can be used to help hide and protect the hole. I was prepared to cut an opening in the headrest, but cutting the seat top makes me a bit nervous. Thanks for the help.

Jj,    If the headrests sit down on top of the seat, then you won't really see the wires. Just run them on the inside of the 2 metal posts. If the headrests are not flush against the seat, then you can buy a rubber sleave (similar to the housing that is used in your doors to run wires from your dash [for power windows/locks]). I think automotive shops may carry them, or you can check junk yards, too.    You may need to cut a tiny hole, but sometimes it's not necessary. I usually am able to force the plastic piece down far enough to fit the connector end through.    I usually take a piece of wire or string, and tie it to the end of a hanger. I then push the wire and hanger down through the top of the seat, and reach up under the leather of the seat, and grab the end. Then I take the wire off the hanger, and attach it to the video cable end. Then all you need to do is pull the wire back up through the top. It is a very easy process. Good Luck! DXAV

also, if you dont want to drill out the metyal post, just replace it with some hollow steel stock from home depot or alumminum
