honda civic trunk tightening

i need help tightening the trunk on my 95 honda civic. im getting too much rattle from my 2 12" subs. will tightening the latch down stop the rattle, if so how do i do it? if not what do i need to do? i killed most of the rattle inside the trunk and when i put my weight on the trunk it sounds perfect. i heard about putting weather stripping or silicon along the edge of the trunk, will these work?

Use Dynamat or a similar product inside the trunk. Stick it to any metal areas to reduce rattles.'85 Toy

LOL! that's one way. You can just get a Dynamat Trunk Kit and apply the Dynamat to the metal of the trunk (under the carpet) and your good to go. Also, if your license plate is rattling, Dynamat makes a housing for that as well.

i had to grind down under where my trunk lid attaches to the body to tighten the lid.     but then that just started ratteling once i upped the subs2009 0-1000 Trunk WR 154.0DB 2009 1001+ Trunk WR

add weight to your trunk lid

well one time when i had that problem and i didnt want to add dynamat i bought some heater house at autozone cut two four inch lenths of heater house and taped it on the the trunk lid so that it would be pinned between the in side lip of the trunk by the weather stripping and the trunk lid ,the extra pressure this added on the closing of the trunk made it stiffer so that stopped my rattling i know it sounds ghetto but hey it worked wait , you hear something sparking?
