Factory Radios w/ RDS

Hey Spike, you are talking about the class2 data bus, not RDS. As far as relocating the radio, there are several companies that make an interface so you do not have to relocate the factory radio, they make them for chimes and Onstar. I am not trying to bash anyone, this place is to learn, just in case you are wondering Spike i work with GM vehicles everyday and the products to integrate aftermarket products with them. I know what i am installing and why i am installing it.

Soundgate. Peripheral, PAC, PIE, these are all companies that make interfaces for GM vehicles. Now do we need to talk about Chryslers with RDS radios too. Take those factory radios out and see what happens...nothing, unless you have an infinity system then you need to relocate the radio to get the factory amp to turn on.. RDS is Radio Data System

BTW jstruckman, i have never had to relocate a radio in a Chyrsler/Jeep product to get the factory/Infinity amp to turn on.....
