YOU NEED A 12V RELAY,

CONNECT PIN 85 TO A FUSED CONSTANT 12V SOURCE

CONNECT PIN 86 TO THE OUTPUT OF THE REMOTE STARTER

CONNECT PIN 87 TO YOUR TRUNK WIRE

CONNECT PIN 30 TO +12 VOLTS IF IT IS POSITIVE SWITCHED OR CONNECT IT TO GROUND IF GROUND SWITCHED.

MECP certified (If it really means anything)

before you connect the relay, check to see what polarity your aux wire from the alarm throws.  If it throws a (-), you won't need the relay.  Just connect it direct.
Do it right the first time

hey guys i was looking for some help with setting up my new trunk poper to my alarm. i have an 03 elantra and the remote start i have just installed has a trunk pop output. i was wondering if i needed a relay to hook up the alarm output since it only carries a -500 mA output. if i do need a relay are the instructions above correct?

thank you.
