1995 Infiniti J30t

I have searched the site, and have come up with two possible ID's for a single RED / black wire.  One list says it is the second ignition wire, another possiblity says it is an accessory wire.

Whatever it is, it terminates at the fuse box at the upper right passenger side, under hood.  Mine has been kind enough to heat up and melt the side of the fuse box, and has caused me to take up walking.

Positive ID, and any suggestions as to what caused this would be most greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Kristen

Thats the accessory wire. Second Ignition in that year is BLACK/ red.

Check the current thats running through it when the car is in acc and running. Its probably shorting someware. and ya, without that, your walking alot.

Thanks azidrane

OK....the wire is actually black with red stripe. ..So, I gather it must be the second ignition wire.  It's burned down to the bare wires where it enters the fuse box under the hood.  I am having trouble locating the other end.  I admit I'm riding the short bus when it comes to this.

Any troubleshooting advice, links, prayer appreciated.  And thanks very much.

Kristen
